Á fêter

Well, what with birthday festivals and a visit from Alex's parents, there have been few free evenings in the last couple of weeks, so sorry for the lull on here and the very rude lack of replies to all the lovely birthday well-wishers out there!

Birthday festivities included a party at our place last weekend, where we successfully squeezed far more people into our apartment than any french person thought was possible (they like small gatherings!), as well as chocolate cake baking and random drinking through the week. Then the birthday festival collided head-on with the arrival of Carol and Eric, Alex's parents, who arrived and whisked us out to a gorgeous dinner on my birthday! Since this is their first visit to Paris, we've been showing them the sights a bit, as well as the local produce and wine, and even the ballet last night, which was fabulous.

Almost french...?

On top of the Sacre Coeur.

Dinner at our place the same evening, with Carol and Eric, as well as Jolieske, who is travelling with them.

At Le Train Bleu, the fabulous restaurant Alex's parents took us for my birthday.

Now, please excuse me. There is a sofa calling desperately for me.

Comments:

Nick will be over with you soon...make sure we see a post of his visit and all the fabulous things yo do! (I want to see what delights wait us over New Years! yay!)
